Heisman Watch- Week 3 and 4
Page 2

Because my editor decided to be a huge slacker, this week you will get two columns in one serving. Here is the Heisman watch for last week and how it has changed this week.

Heisman Watch: Post Week 3

After the collision in the coliseum, one Heisman’s stock rose, while another’s faded. After week 3 of the college football season, here are the favorites:

Tim Tebow, Florida QB: Tebow and the Gators had the week off, so no Superman-like performances to report. In two games Tebow has thrown for 392 yards and 3 touchdowns and added 92 yards on the ground. Look for Tebow to have his best game of the season so far against SEC East rival Tennessee this Saturday.

Mark Sanchez, USC QB: After USC’s showdown against Ohio State, it was clear USC was the better team, and Sanchez led the way. Sanchez threw for 172 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 35-3 beat-down. In just two games Sanchez has thrown for 510 yards and 7 touchdowns with two interceptions. USC is off on Saturday, but look for Sanchez to have another big game against Oregon State on September 25th.

Chase Daniel, Missouri QB: Daniel had a phenomenal game last Saturday against Nevada, throwing for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 69-17 blowout. Daniel became Missouri’s all-time passing leader, and the Tigers have scored on their last 13 possessions. For the season Daniel has thrown for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns with just 1 interception. Look for Daniel to continue to put up ridiculous numbers next Saturday against Buffalo.

Knowshon Moreno, Georgia RB: Moreno had a tough game last Saturday against South Carolina, rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in the 14-7 win. South Carolina’s defense was able to contain Moreno for most of the contest, but Georgia got the win and kept their national title hopes alive. On the season Moreno has rushed for 306 yards and 7 touchdowns to go with 96 receiving yards. Look for Moreno to be more effective next Saturday when Georgia takes on Arizona State.

Sam Bradford, Oklahoma QB: Beanie Wells’ no-show against USC has allowed Bradford to move up into the top 5 candidates. Bradford has been impressive so far this season, putting up amazing numbers. Bradford threw for 304 yards and 5 touchdowns last Saturday in the Sooners’ 55-15 drubbing of Washington. So far this season, Bradford has thrown for 882 yards and 12 touchdowns with just 2 interceptions. Bradford is also completing almost 80% of his passes.

Though these are my top five guys for now, there are a few others nipping at their heels.
If any of these guys fade, look for Jeremy Maclin, Graham Harrell, and possibly Beanie Wells to jump into the mix.
